Use of GIS in Arctic Research Projects

Instead of that, they mount remote sensors on satellites and airplanes to click 3D and high-resolution images of the ocean.

The satellite images are used to measure the sea ice covers on the arctic ocean, as well as the weather around this region. The recent arctic projects are focusing on weather changes and their impact on the environment. The main goal of this study is to understand the climatic changes and temperature fluctuations in the arctic region so that the research community can plan necessary steps to reduce pollution and enhance efficiency. In addition to that, people are making efforts to promote renewable energy and achieve the goal of getting a “100% clean economy by the end of 2050”.
