This project examined the practices of a genetic research company alleged to have implemented undisisclosed genetic modifications in cattle. Serving as lead investigator and advocate for research transparency, I conducted a structured review of available documentation, data, and supporting evidence to evaluate the validity of the claims and identify potential breaches of scientific and ethical standards.
The case study details the investigative methodology, criteria used to assess disclosure practices, and analysis of the technical and ethical dimensions of the company’s work. The findings highlight systemic weaknesses in oversight, reporting, and accountability, and underscore the risks posed by opaque genetic research in an applied agricultural context.
Although my direct involvement with the organization has concluded, the outcomes of this project continue to inform discussions on responsible genomics, including the need for clearer disclosure frameworks, stronger governance mechanisms, and practical standards to ensure that genetic innovation is conducted transparently and in the public interest.
